Please take the time to watch this video.
"Jill Bolte Taylor got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions -- motion, speech, self-awareness -- shut down one by one. An astonishing story."
It will change the way you view life. Simply put, we are all just brains with a spinal column. What she proves though--it's much more spiritual and meanginful than that.

Very interesting and kind of sad...
oh i know this one, one of my favorites as well.
I love TED talks! Have you seen the one about the squirrel vending machine? (its real, look it up)
Wow, I really liked this. In my opinion, she had gone a bit too far on the esotheric way in her speech, but after such a experience I can't blame her.
That's crazy. I have a bad habit of thinking a bit too existentially.
Great video, really gets you thinking
wow this is amazing!!!!
one of the best ones!
Oh man! so good to hear other people use Ted. I love that site.
Now THIS is something I'm VERY interested in, being a pre-med student and all.
i remember the newscaster that had a stroke on television, it was freaky stuff.
i know a lot of what she was talking about, I have spent a lot of time with astro projection and the like, having out of body experiences. It's always refreshing hearing other peoples stories
On a side note. I'm digging the game curveball on the side bar. Really a nice touch
I love the things they are doing at TED this year.
One of the best, nothing like first person insight.
